Most IT firms hide their numbers. We'd rather you know whether we fit your budget before either of us spends an hour finding out. Final quotes depend on user count, compliance scope, and coverage — but these are real starting points, not bait.

How much does small-business IT actually cost in 2026?

US market rates: managed IT runs $100–$250 per user/month (regulated industries in the upper half); fractional IT leadership runs $5,000–$15,000/month; AI readiness assessments run $8,000–$25,000. ATCOS prices below — right-sized for firms of 5–50 people.

What moves the number up or down

  1. Compliance scope. HIPAA covered entities and FTC Safeguards–regulated firms need documented risk analysis, policies, and evidence — that's real work, priced in.
  2. Coverage expectations. Business-hours response vs. after-hours emergency coverage are different commitments.
  3. Site count. Multi-location networking (VPN, firewalls, inter-site identity) adds scope — and it's a specialty of ours.
  4. Current state. A clean, modern Microsoft 365 tenant onboards fast. Years of accumulated mess gets a remediation project first, quoted fixed-fee.

Pricing questions, answered straight

Is there a minimum contract?

Managed and co-managed agreements are annual with a 90-day opt-out in the first term. Assessments and projects are fixed-scope with no ongoing commitment — many clients start there.

Why are your fractional rates below the $5K–$15K market band?

That band is calibrated to mid-market companies buying 10–20 hours a week. Small firms don't need that many hours — they need the right hours. Our retainers are scoped to what a 5–50 person firm actually uses, so director-level leadership becomes affordable without diluting it.

Do you mark up hardware and licenses?

No. We advise on purchases at our hourly or retainer rate and you buy at your price — our recommendation isn't influenced by a reseller margin. If you want us to handle procurement logistics, that's billed as time, transparently.
